As well as being humble, Kunis wants her kids to inherit her hard work ethic. It’s a lesson she learnt young; her family immigrated to the US from Ukraine when she was seven with just $250 in their pockets.
“What I most want my daughter to learn from me is the value of hard work,” she says. “You f**k up once, you learn quickly.”
When pressed on what exactly said “f**k-up” might have been, Kunis winces. “I got to work 40 minutes late and got reprimanded.” Wow. Kunis laughs. “I had too much responsibility when I was young. You can’t be self-destructive if you’ve got a mortgage. We were so poor growing up. Not to say that I think money is happiness; its not. But you know what is? Being able to work.”
It's work that has reunited Kunis with Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell in Bad Moms 2, the sequel to 2016’s endearing ensemble comedy Bad Moms. In it, the trio get drunk at the food court while Christmas shopping; and yep, that's happiness alright.
The December issue of marie claire starring Mila Kunis is on sale Thursday.
Bad Moms 2 is in cinemas on November 2.
