Fast forward a couple of hours and the new couple - if that's what they are? - went Instagram official, with Cody sharing a black and white selfie with Miley to his Instagram Stories, writing "Pre swim breakfast courtesy of baby." In the image, the 22-year-old is kissing Miley's head, while she has her eyes shut and face screwed up.
He then shared a photo of the afformentioned breakfast: peanut butter and banana on toast and a berry smoothie.
Cody and Miley have been friends for years with him saying of the Slide Away singer in 2015, "Miley is one of my best friends and she helps with some of that transitional stuff - trying to escape your childhood. She's super open-minded and I'm working on becoming more like that."
Before the two met, in 2012, Cody even called Miley his celebrity crush. "Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush," he told Fuse at the time. "I know all the words to her songs, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not ashamed about it at all."
He added, "I was a big Miley Cyrus fan and I think she will be forever the most date-able Disney star."
While Miley's last high-profile relationship was with Kaitlynn Carter, Cody previously dated Gigi Hadid for several years.
