Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth quietly tied the knot in a private ceremony back in December. The couple, since then, has not been afraid to publicly profess their newly married status, regularly referring to one another as 'husband' and 'wife.'
Now, Hemsworth has revealed an even sweeter detail from their wedding. Appearing on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Kelly Ripa started to ask about Cyrus when Liam adorably cut in and corrected her name, saying it's "Miley Ray Hemsworth now, actually."
Immediately, the hosts leaned in for more answers and asked if the star had changed her name.
"She’ll still be obviously known as Miley Cyrus, but she did," Hemsworth confirmed. "She took my name, which was great. I think that was honestly one of the best things about it. I didn’t ask her to take my name, and then she’s like, ‘No, of course, I’ll take your name.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s awesome. That’s really good. Thank you'."
Earlier this month, Hemsworth took to the opportunity to thank his 'beautiful wife' while being honoured at the G'Day USA Gala.
Hemsworth was honoured at the gala, accepting the Excellence In Film Award, and while on stage accepting the honour he turned the attention to his partner of 10-years. "Thank you to my beautiful wife," the 29-year-old actor told the crowd, prompting a huge cheer. “You are a sweet, sweet angel. You’re great, you’re great,” he continued, after which Cyrus could be heard shouting from her seat, “More about me!”
He playfully added, “Yeah, I’ll tell you later.”
Cyrus later posted the sweet exchange to Instagram.
Just days before on Liam's birthday, Miley wrote a heartfelt public letter. "I love YOU. Unconditionally. In our time together you have displayed what it really means to love thru all circumstances. I respect you and you respect me."
Married life looks good on these two!
