The Meaning Behind Miranda Kerr’s Newborn Son’s Name

Flynn meet Hart

Miranda Kerr has given birth to her second child – and first with her husband, Evan Spiegel – a baby boy named Hart.

Though the happy couple is yet to personally comment on their new arrival, TMZ reports the Australian supermodel gave birth on May 7th, at the same time revealing the newborn’s name.

For her firstborn, a 7-year-old son, whom she shares with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom, Miranda chose a more classic name of Flynn Christopher.

But with names such as Stormi, Chicago, North and Reign currently dominating the celebrity baby scene, it comes as no surprise that the famous couple chose to call their son something relatively unique.

According to Nameberry, Hart is a boy’s name of English origin meaning “stag”. The website notes it is often brought up as one of the best unique boy’s names due to it being short, straightforward, and strong sounding.

Kerr and her Snapchat founder husband first announced they were expecting a child together back in November.

“Miranda, Evan and Flynn are looking forward to welcoming the newest member of their family,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

The couple, who first announced their engagement in July of 2016, wed in a private ceremony on May 27th 2017.

Congrats to the happy family!
