Miranda Kerr’s Hair Stylist Says This $17 Product Is The Secret To Perfect Waves

David Keough shares his A-List hair tips

When it comes to defining the most popular haircut of the moment, it’s hard to go past the classic bob. The bob or lob – that’s a long bob for the uninitiated – is a versatile style that’s cut to a workable length which can be pulled into a messy bun or worn loose. Undoubtedly universally flattering; this hair trend suits most hair types and faces. Complementary and approachable – the lob is the Miss Congeniality of the hair world.

As we head into a new season, there’s a fresh way to update your bob cut, and according to Los Angeles-based hairstylist David Keough – who works with Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerrit’s all about playing with texture.

“Lobs with a bit of an edge will definitely be popular this season,” explains Keough who recently touched down in Sydney to perform ambassador duties for haircare brand John Frieda.

Predicting the grown-out blunt chop will reign supreme, he points to Mila Kunis’ recent beauty transformation as a turning-point: “Everyone had a meltdown when Mila’s hair stylist unveiled her new asymmetrical lob.”

The trick to achieving effortless texture à la Mila or Miranda is to play with hair products that boost your tresses’ built-in bounce. He favours a nutrient-rich lightweight styling mousse – optimal for girls with fine and medium hair that are looking for added volume.

Blessed with wavy hair? Keough suggests keeping heat styling to a minimum. “If you have that natural, gorgeous curl in the hair then you could use John Frieda’s Air Dry Waves.

“Apply a dollop to washed and towel-dried hair, letting strands dry naturally and enhancing the body of your lob to keep it effortless and edgy.”
