Country Road is a staple brand in any Australian fashion girl’s wardrobe and with the new CR.Capsule collection potentially their best release to date, we chat to the brand’s designer Jane Wilkinson about the pieces every stylish woman will be wearing this coming summer.
What do you think is going to sell like crazy from the new collection?
I would have to say the pleated dress. It’s the perfect combination of softly exaggerated proportion and femininity.
What are your 3 favourite pieces from the CR.Capsule range and why?
1. The leather biker – a timeless investment
2. The black pleated fluted sleeve top and pleated palazzo pant – this combination is so effortless, versatile and easy to wear, the ultimate outfit that will take you from day from night.
3. The rose velvet bomber – such a striking colour, it’s made from premium pony hair velvet yarn making it an incredibly luxurious standout piece
What’s the main focus of this collection? Where did you draw inspiration from?
Luxe fabrics were the beginning of the CR.Capsule story – a mix of pleating, shine, buttery leather, and velvet inspired yarns created a story of elevated textures. We saw this collection as an opportunity to elevate our design by adding a new level of fashion and exclusivity to our customer’s wardrobe.
Each piece has been meticulously crafted in limited quantities to ensure these 15 investment pieces make a unique and exclusive statement.
What do you think every country road girl will be wearing this coming summer?
Our pick for summer would definitely be ruffles – they are soft, feminine and can elevate classic looks. In our upcoming collections, you’ll see ruffles feature across our stunning range of linen and printed skirts as well as a variety of mix and match tops, our favourite being the off the shoulder.
