Naomi Watts To Star In ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel

GoT fans get excited!

Huge news Game of Thrones fans: the divine Naomi Watts has been announced as a lead character in a highly anticipated GoT prequel series that will be set a thousand years before Jon Snow takes on the White Walkers.

HBO is currently working on five (yes, five) Game of Thrones spin-off’s and prequels, which means there’s still a lot more of Westeros yet to be seen. This particular prequel will be co-created by the author of the popular series George RR Martin and screenwriter of Kick-Ass Jane Goldman.

Watts’ character sounds like Cersei Lannister 2.0, and has been described as “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.”

Goldman will bring her characteristic mix of comedy and gore to the script, telling Digital Spy, “Those are things I love, and things I like to do, it would be remiss of me not to put them in.”

It slightly sadder news, it looks like all the GoT related shows in production at the HBO will not be on the air until the eighth and final season runs in 2019.

Big cheer for HBO on giving the people what they want – more GoT content.
