On working with Guerlain for the past ten years
“It has been such a privilege working with the Guerlain team, especially with Olivier Echaudemaison, Guerlain’s creative director. It’s been fun, filled with lots of great memories and wonderful trips and laughter. I’ve been to the factories and travelled all around the world with Guerlain.”
“I always strive to be my best and put so much time and effort into my work. The Guerlain team has always been very supportive of all my crazy ideas – from my actions for [my charity] the Naked Heart Foundation, to the annual [semi-marathon] runs, to the Christmas make-up collection.
The things that inspire her
“I really enjoyed creating the Guerlain Shalimar holiday collection by Natalia Vodianova in 2016. I was so inspired by my trip to India when we shot the Shalimar commercial; blue, gold and sapphire gemstones were everywhere. I said to Laurent [Boillot, Guerlain president], “Why don’t we transmit this into a beauty collection and not just in perfume?” That’s how the collection came together. This meant so much to me, especially as profits from the collection went to the Naked Heart Foundation.”
Her makeup must-haves
“Make-up is very personal; it’s about understanding how to enhance yourself and trying not to replicate what someone else does already. You must treat your face as a sculpture. When I was younger I had a very round face and I wanted to define my cheeks. Now that I don’t have this round face anymore, I like to look younger and plumper. I apply a lot of blush almost in a baby-doll style. It has a very fresh look.
I’m also a huge fan of the Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder and the Terracotta Highlighter. I love Météorites, too. It gives this beautiful glow; it’s my latest make-up essential.”
The beauty tip Natalia swears by
“I never ever put lipstick exactly on the contour of my lips. I always apply it using my finger. It just makes the lips more beautiful and lush. For my eyes it’s about eyeshadows and working around the eyes, rather than putting on a lot of mascara, even though I love it.”
