SECRET BRIDESMAIDS’ BUSINESS

NOW, SEVEN

We’re calling it: this new series starring Abbie Cornish is Australia’s answer to Big Little Lies. Romance, intrigue, female friendship– this six-part series has it all. In it, Georgina Haig plays Olivia Cotterill, a bride whose perfect day is threatened when one of her bridesmaids unknowingly invites a dangerous stranger into their lives, setting off a life-threatening chain reaction. Dun dun duuun.

FRAYED

OCT 16, ABC

Family drama has never been so funny (or relatable). Set in 1988, Frayed follows the story of Sammy Cooper (played by comedian and creator Sarah Kendall), a well-off London-based housewife who is forced to move back to her Aussie hometown of Newcastle with her two kids after her husband dies of a heart attack while with a sex worker. Back home, hilarity ensues as she remembers all the reasons she left Newie.

Total Control

TOTAL CONTROL

OCT 13, ABC

What happens when two national treasures face-off? Great TV. In this new drama, directed by the ridiculously talented Rachel Perkins, Deborah Mailman takes on Rachel Griffiths. After Prime Minister Rachel Anderson (Griffths) uses Alex Irving (Mailman) as a publicity stunt, she seeks brutal revenge on the PM. Expect high stakes ambition, backstabbing and betrayal.
