A new ‘person of interest’ has been named in the case of the missing Beaumont children who vanished from Adelaide’s Glenelg Beach on January 26, 1966.
In what remains one of Australia’s greatest unsolved mysteries, siblings Jane, 9, Arnna, 7, and four-year-old Grant disappeared after heading off for a day at the beach on Australia Day.
According to News.com.au millionaire Anthony Munro, 71, has pleaded guilty to 10 child sex offenses in South Australia dating back to 1962 – four years before the Beaumonts’ disappearance.
The site reports that police believe that Munro was in Adelaide at the time, but there is no evidence linking him to the case.
The millionaire, who runs a lady boy bar in Cambodia, where he is also reportedly wanted for questioning over child sex offenses, returned to Australia in August for questioning.
Munro is scheduled to appear in court for a pre-sentence arraignment for the 10 charges on December 9.
