After 22 years of marriage, actor Colin Firth and his wife, Italian film producer Livia Giuggioli, have announced their separation.
The couple share teenage sons Matteo and Luca and said in a joint statement that they remain “united in their love for their children.”
The news comes less than two years after Giuggioli revealed she’d had a year-long affair with her childhood friend, journalist Marco Brancaccia, who she accused of stalking her before later dropping the charges.

“Colin and Livia Firth have separated,” a reps told E! News of the split. “They maintain a close friendship and remain united in their love for their children. They kindly ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
