Who Is Emilio Sakraya? An Important Investigation Into The ‘Fourth Wing’ Star

After months, if not years, of speculation over the casting of the ‘Fourth Wing’ TV adaptation, we finally have our Xaden Riorsen: Emilio Sakraya.

The German-born actor was, in fact, a fan favourite pick for the new series, which is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.

Fans of the series had speculated that Sakraya was leaving cryptic clues in his social media posts alluding to the casting news, particularly in the regular use of the dragon emoji.

For those unfamiliar with Fourth Wing and The Empyrean series from author Rebecca Yarros, it centres on a magical war college where cadets learn to bond and ride dragons.

Comments lit up an Instagram post from the 30-year-old, showing him working out, simply using the notable emoji as a caption.

Over on TikTok, fans shared their theories that it could be a subtle casting clue, with Sakraya even going as far as to like one of the clips about the theory. Was he toying with us or did he already know he’d be our Xaden?

Emilio Sakraya is a German actor and musician, born in Berlin in 1996. He began his acting career as a child in 2008 making his film debut in Zeiten ändern dich (Electro Ghetto). Since then, his resume has only grown as he’s transitioned into more prominent roles across both German-language and international productions.

When it comes to his love life, Emilio Sakraya tends to keep things close to his chest.

Currently single, the German actor and musician famously sparked a frenzy when he was linked to Spanish pop powerhouse Rosalía, after the pair were spotted on PDA-packed strolls through Munich.

The couple were first linked in when spotted together in Beverly Hills, California, in April 2025 before being papped kissing in Munich, and then seen together again in Spain in June 2025. Neither publicly confirmed or acknowledged the romance before quietly going their separate ways.

Before Rosalía, Sakraya was in a long-term relationship with German actress Sonja Gerhardt, 37.

In a surprise twist, the now 30-year-old revealed he was a father to a son he had when he was just 20 years old. The reveal came via his song Cacio e Pepe, where he sings: “Even though I’m spending a free hour in the mountains with my son and we’re holding hands”.

Sakray has spoken about the decision to keep his son a secret, citing a desire for privacy as the reason.

Speaking to German outlet Zeit, he said,”I always kept it a secret that I have a son because it’s the one thing I wanted to experience and learn about privately and not share with the public.”

“But I’ve now decided to go public with it once, so I can fully enjoy fatherhood and not have to constantly worry about being seen when I’m out with the baby,” he added.
