When Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia first swept across our screens in 2021, it captured the hearts and minds of a new generation of viewers. Not just for its nuanced portrayal of family dynamics, mental health issues and relationships, but for its star-studded cast – of which Australian actor, Felix Mallard is a notable member. As the show’s newest season is set to premier imminently, fans are once against flocking to the internet with one very important question: Does Felix Mallard have a girlfriend?
While his career may have skyrocketed since accepting his role as the brooding Marcus on Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, his acting muscles were first flexed on Hollywood’s favourite local casting pipeline (second only to Home & Away of course) Neighbours. Though he admits acting wasn’t high on the agenda when he was younger, a six episode stint on Ramsay Street provided a catalyst for what was to come.
“I was lucky enough to to land the six episodes and it was during that time that I realised that acting is what I want to do for the rest of my life,” he told GQ in a 2021 interview. “That’s where it started and from there it was all systems go, it was all I wanted to do.”
Intent to pursue his discovered passion, Mallard went on to star as the Harry Styles-inspired character Cooper James in the 2018 series, Happy Together – his first big American role. From there, he had recurring roles in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Locke & Key, before landing his breakthrough role in Ginny & Georgia.
Viewers instantly fell for Marcus, Ginny’s neighbour and love interest in the first two seasons, and it’s easy to see why. The deep-thinking, perceptive boy next door will always strike a chord with fans, so it’s hard to blame the inquisitive hive mind when it comes to their ongoing fascination with Mallard’s dating life. After all, when both his on-screen and off-screen personas seem to revel in mystery, it makes for a compelling tale.
So, with Ginny & Georgia Season 3 dropping June 5, there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Does Felix Mallard have a girlfriend?
Is Felix Mallard Single?
The Aussie actor has been vocal about his vested interest in keeping his private life out of the public eye and as such, there’s very little known about his romantic pursuits.
On the surface, it appears that Mallard is well and truly single, with no trace of either a potential partner, or rumoured fling making an appearance on his socials.
But the apparent lack of a public love interest is hardly surprising, given his own comments on what he chooses to share, or not to share, with his fans: “It certainly just comes down to professionalism. At this stage, I’m only really ever wanting to focus on my work and to share my work and art,” he revealed to GQ. “I think the rest is for me and my life, and my friends and family.”
However, as the Internet is want to do, digital sleuths have long suspected there might be something going on behind the scenes with a fellow industry pro.
Are Zoe Cramond & Felix Mallard Dating?
The internet was sent into a frenzy after Mallard let slip a tiny detail about his potential love life in a 2021 interview with Young Hollywood. Revealing that the first message he received when the first season of Ginny & Georgia premiered on Netflix was from his girlfriend, he told the channel: “Yeah, my girlfriend was straight on the jump,” he said. “As soon as it was out, [she binged it] straight through.”
Naturally, the comments attracted more than a few raised eyebrows and questioning searches.
Internet sleuths settled on New Zealand actress Zoe Cramond as the messenger, after the pair were snapped on the red carpet premiere of Happy Together back in 2018. Both Cramond and Mallard would have met on the set of Neighbours during their tenures that spanned 2015-2019 and 2016-2018 respectively.
Despite their age gap – Cramond was born in 1984, and Mallard in 1998, the two share a love of surfing and the great outdoors, with the Kiwi actress often sharing snaps of her ocean antics to her followers.
Although the one comment from Mallard is all the internet really has to go on and we haven’t heard anything since to confirm their partnership either way, there have been several pictures posted (as recently as November 2024) that are tagged with a @zoecramond photography credit. And as they say – a picture tells a thousand words.
