In an Instagram Reel shared on Wednesday (local time), Smith revealed that the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Whimsy Lou, was diagnosed with cancer late last year and has since undergone treatment. Smith and Lucky Blue are also parents to Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 4, and Fawnie Golden, who was born last year.

In the emotional video, Smith recalled first noticing “something suspicious” about Whimsy’s health before taking her to the emergency department, followed by a visit to her paediatrician. She was then referred to a children’s hospital, where a series of tests confirmed her worst fears.

“I just remember him going really quiet and calm and my heart dropped in that moment,” she said. “I don’t know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom’s intuition, but the first thing that I felt was she has cancer.”

Doctors later told the family that the cancer had spread and that Whimsy needed to begin chemotherapy immediately. Smith did not disclose the specific type of cancer.

The content creator also reflected on the immense challenge of navigating her daughter’s treatment while postpartum, caring for her three other young children and juggling her career.

“Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard,” Smith admitted. “Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard. All I can do is try my best.”

Smith said one of the reasons she decided to speak publicly was because the support she found through online forums, social media and conversations with other families at the hospital helped ease the loneliness of the experience. She hopes sharing Whimsy’s story will offer the same comfort to others facing similar circumstances.

In the caption, Smith also thanked “each and every nurse and doctor along our journey who helped us get through and out the other end.”

Over the last few years, Nara has risen to prominence on TikTok, where she shares videos of herself preparing elaborate dishes while dressed in everything from luxurious cashmere to full couture, often complete with satin gloves, all narrated in her signature honeyed voice.

In a TikTok video, Nara and Lucky shared that they first met through work in Los Angeles in 2019 and began dating soon after. Just six months later, they were married in a beachside ceremony in Los Angeles.
