More details surrounding Princess Dianaโs life and divorce from Prince Charles has come to light, ahead of the release of the highly anticipated documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life, Her Legacy.
In the doco which airs this Sunday on Sevenโs Sunday Night this coming Sunday, 30th July, Prince William and Prince Harry give a rare insight into their relationship with their late mother and how her divorce from their father, Prince Charles, affected them.
โThere was the point where our parents split and we never saw our mother enough or we never saw our father enough,โ Harry, now 32, says in the preview clip.

โThere was a lot of travelling and a lot of fights on the back seat with my brother, which I would win. I donโt pretend weโre the only people to have to deal with that but it was an interesting way of growing up,โ he continued.
Dianaโs butler Paul Burrell, who she called her โrockโ, also revealed how she tried to shield her children from the trauma of the separation.
โIt was upsetting for them to watch the fall-out of their parentsโ marriage and whenever Diana got upset, they would push notes under her door saying, โIt will be OK,โโ he says.
โDiana smothered them in love and they always slept in her room during that time and not the nursery.โ

During an interview for another documentary, Diana: Her True Story โ In Her Own Words, released years ago, Princess Diana told royal biographer Andrew Morton that after Harryโs birth โsomething inside me closed off,โ especially since her husband continued his affair.
โBy then, I knew Charles had gone back to his lady,โ Diana said referring to Camilla.
Princess Diana and Prince Charles eventually separated in 1992 before divorcing in 1996.
However, Diana attributes the split to Charlesโ affair, not the birth of their second son.
โThere were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded,โ she famously said in a 1995 BBC interview.
