Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have welcomed their third child, announcing that their first daughter was born on August 3.
The baby girl joins the couple’s two sons, five-year-old August Philip Hawke Brooksbank and three-year-old Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. While her name has not yet been revealed, Buckingham Palace confirmed she was born on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:20 p.m. at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.
In a statement, the palace said, “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
While her birthplace is unusual for a member of the royal family, it reflects the family’s lifestyle changes in recent years. Since 2022, Eugenie and Jack have divided their time between the UK and Portugal with their two sons after Jack accepted a role with property developer Mike Meldman, a business partner of George Clooney.
Jack previously worked as a brand ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company co-founded by Clooney and Rande Gerber. Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie continues her work as a director at Hauser & Wirth, the international modern and contemporary art gallery.
Eugenie spoke about her new lifestyle in Portugal during a 2023 appearance on the Table Manners podcast.
“This is why Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares,” she said.
Their newborn is 15th in line to the British throne, following her two older brothers, and is believed to be the first member of the British royal family to be born in Portugal.
Although her name remains a mystery, royal watchers are already speculating whether it will honor a family member, much like August’s middle name, Philip, which pays tribute to Eugenie’s grandfather, Prince Philip.
Princess Eugenie also shared the happy news on Instagram, writing, “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
