A Colombian judge has rejected to accept Cassie Sainsbury’s plea deal. The alleged drug smuggler is now facing 30 years behind bars if she is proven guilty.
According to The Nine Network, the Judge who made the call, Sergio Leon, revealed he was not interested in the 22-year-old Adelaide woman’s deal which would involve a reduced jail term of six years in return for naming people behind a drug smuggling ring.
This decision comes after Sainsbury made claims that she has only agreed to smuggle 5.8kg of cocaine due to threats which were aimed at her family members.
Stay tuned as this is a developing story.
