Keeping up with fashion week can be hard. Whether you don’t want to clog up your newsfeed with the same photos or you just can’t manage to keep up with what’s happening abroad, there’s no question it’s a full time job. That’s where we come in!

New York fashion week is the first in a month long extravaganza of all things fashion — and one of the biggest. Showing a slew of heritage and fledgling brands, NYFW is a melting pot of trends, news and celebrities. For the autumn/winter ‘19/’20 season, it was no different. From Bella Hadid dancing on stage to the brand touted to be the next big thing on the red carpet, there’s a LOT to unpack. Below, we’ve rounded up the moments we think are most important — so you can pretend you’ve been following along this whole time. Consider this your cheat sheet to NYFW! 

Tomo Koizumi held his first ever show — and Instagram went wild

After being discovered by legendary stylist Katie Grand on Instagram, Tomo Koizumi held his first fashion show at the beginning of NYFW, presenting a collection of fluffy coloured tulle that was worn on models like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski. Naturally, the internet went wild — proclaiming Koizumi as the next big thing. Now we just can’t wait to see if this dresses turn up at the Oscars!

Boss made us all fall in love with monochromatic dressing

Always one of the most anticipated shows from the week, Boss didn’t disappoint for autumn/winter, showing a collection jam-packed with wearable, work-perfect outfits. But the kicker? The brand’s dedication to monochrome. Sending models down the runway in a slew of rainbow monochrome colours, the show was the freshest take one top-to-toe dressing from the week. We’re hooked.

Paris Hilton walked the runway

Never one to shy away from a good runway, Paris Hilton took to The Blonds for a turn in the lights. Walking alongside Lil Kim, Hilton showcased a a silver spangly dress, which she paired with her signature pout. That’s hot!

Dogs doubled as models

It was a good day for dog lovers, with models at Lela Rose carrying all sorts of dogs as their accessories for the label’s autumn/winter ‘19/’20 show. Set up as a mock dog show, there were even judges with scorecards and an official announcer!

The street style set were there to win

It was a stellar season for street style, with some of the country’s best dressed ascending on Manhattan for a week of colour, bold neons and lots of tiny bags. In case you missed it, see the best of the best here.

Barry Manilow surprised us all!

Following a Studio 54-inspired collection at Michael Kors, legendary performer Barry Manilow took to the stage for a rendition of Copacabana. Joined on stage by Bella Hadid and Fran Summers, Manilow made the final day of NYFW one to remember, and has us wanting more!

Pierre Davis made history

In a landmark moment for NYFW, designer Pierre Davis made history by becoming the first transgender designer to show during the week. For her label, No Sesso (which translates to No Sex in Italian), Davis debuted a collection of gender neutral pieces which were a total hit from fans of the brand, which already posts a cult following.
