Paris Jackson Wants Fans To Stop Photoshopping Her Skin Tone

The model speaks out on Twitter

Paris Jackson has asked her fans to stop editing one of her many beautiful features, her skin tone.

The 19-year-old Chanel ambassador started by thanking her 1.36 million Twitter followers for their support. “I appreciate everything y’all make for me, i enjoy every single edit i see,” she wrote.

Paris continued by requesting her fans respect her natural features and stop altering her appearance. “Please stop lightening my skin to make me look more white. and please stop darkening my skin to make me look more mixed. i am what i am. i’m aware of what i look like and i finally happy with it..”

Paris has previously spoken about her cultural identity to Rolling Stone, explaining that she does not define who she is by her skin’s colouring. “I consider myself black,” she shared, adding that her late father Michael Jackson, “would look me in the eyes and he’d point his finger at me and he’d be like, ‘You’re black. Be proud of your roots.’ And I’d be like, ‘OK, he’s my dad, why would he lie to me?’ So I just believe what he told me, ’cause, to my knowledge, he’s never lied to me.”

Paris later made sure her fans knew that her Tweet was not about ‘pleading’ or ‘shaming’ but about promoting body positivity and self-acceptance.
