All eyes were on Donald Trump when he gave his first interview as President Elect following last week’s shocking US election.
We waited with baited breath to see billionaire-turned-politician outline his plan as president and see what election policies he plans to see through.
However, this time it wasn’t wife Melania’s fashion choices that had people scratching their heads, it was First Daughter, Ivanka.
The 35-yea-old joined the rest of her famous family for the highly-anticiapted interview, and proving that the shrewd business mind doesn’t fall far from the tree, she took the opportunity to promote her Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry line.
Namely the gold bracelet she wore, which can be yours for a cool $14k.
Following the interview, Trump’s company sent out a media release promoting the bracelet, and several journalists shared the blast on social media.
“Please find attached a style alert of Ivanka wearing her favourite bracelet from the Metropolis collection over the weekend on 60 minutes,” it read.
“Please share this with your clients, and of course do not hesitate to reach out with any enquiries.”
However, the internet was not impressed.
The company has since released an apology, blaming a “well-intentioned employee” and stating that they are still “making adjustments post-election”.
“This notification was sent by a well-intentioned marketing employee at one of our companies who was following customary protocol, and who, like many of us, is still making adjustments post-election,” the statement read. “We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward.”
