Perth Man Pleads Guilty To Sexually Assaulting Two Children

The man lured the children from a North Perth child care centre

A Perth man accused of sexually assaulting two young children in April last year has changed his plea to guilty.

Vincenzo Mule, 53, admitted to luring a five-year-old girl and four-year-old boy away from a North Perth child care centre before sexually assaulting them.

Mule then left the children in Hyde Park, where they were found wandering and upset by a member of the public shortly after.

During a hearing where the children were due to record their evidence, the 52-year-old changed his plea, admitting to three counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 – two against the girl, and one against the boy – and two counts of deprivation of liberty, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

The child care centre reportedly had not noticed the children were missing until they were alerted by police. It has been fined $40,000 over the incident, reports SMH.

Mule has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court for sentencing on February 10.
