Pippa Middleton Confirms She’s Expecting Her First Child With James Matthews

It's official!

Pippa Middleton has confirmed she and her husband James Matthews are expecting their first child.

The 34-year-old broke the news—six weeks after rumours circulated she was pregnant—via a fitness column in Waitrose Weekend.

Middleton revealed that morning sickness had not struck as bad as her sister Kate’s struggle with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

“I was lucky to pass the 12-week [mark] without suffering from morning sickness,” she wrote, US Weekly reports.

“That meant I was able to carry on as normal and continue most of my sports with better knowledge and, more importantly, professionals to learn from.”

In the fitness column, Middleton also explained how she had tweaked her exercise routine since learning she was pregnant.

“When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant, I realized I needed to adjust my four to five-day-a-week [fitness] routine,” she said.

“And this being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered.”

“I’ve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it’s being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth, and recovery,” she added.

A source told US Weekly back in 2017 that the couple were trying for a baby and that “starting a family is something they’ve spoken about since long before they got married.”

“It’s long been a dream for Kate and Pippa to be pregnant at the same time”, another source added. “To share that would be amazing.”

“Pippa’s always said how great it would be if they were to be expecting together.”
