All The Times Celebrities Have Spoken About Plastic Surgery

Life in Silicon Valley...

Botox and boob jobs and brow lifts, oh my! the A-list certainly isn’t shy about silicon.

Hollywood is a rat race, with celebrities constantly being photographed and judged for their appearance. It’s no wonder so many stars have made changes when they’re constantly confronted with every aspect of their look (imagine having to watch your own face on the big screen…)

But while some abstain from nips, tucks and needles in the name of aging gracefully, others like to seek a little help from their favourite surgeons.

Here, Hollywood celebs from Nicole Kidman to Gwyneth Paltrow share their thoughts on plastic surgery…

Gwyneth Paltrow

“I tried [it] a long time ago…. I was turning 40, and I had a total panic attack. I went to this doctor, and it was crazy. [After that] I stayed away, then three years ago, the frown lines were getting deep. And I’m a natural person; I’m not into heavy stuff. I believe in taking care of your body from the inside out. I should say, I was open to a little help,” Paltrow shared. “I tried Xeomin, which was explained to me as a purified version [of botulinum toxin], and it was such a nice, natural result, and it made me look like I had a nice, long, good sleep. And it was the easiest thing. One teeny, little thing [between the brows], and that was it. It took 90 seconds. It was nothing.”

Jennifer Aniston

“There is this pressure in Hollywood to be ageless. I think what I have been witness to, is seeing women trying to stay ageless with what they are doing to themselves. I am grateful to learn from their mistakes, because I am not injecting s**t into my face…I see them and my heart breaks,” said Aniston. “I think, ‘Oh god if you only know how much older you look.’ They are trying to stop the clock, and all you can see is an insecure person who won’t let themselves just age.”

Chrissy Teigen

So I posted myself getting a COVID test on the twitter, as I’m getting surgery soon. A lot of people are understandably curious (and nosey!) so I’ll just say it here: I’m getting my boobs out!” Teigen confirmed. “They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it. I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me! All good. I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat. Which is all a tit is in the first place. A dumb, miraculous bag of fat.”

Kylie Jenner

“I’m not against plastic surgery. I’ve only been under [anesthesia] once before, when I went to the dentist and I didn’t react well; it really scared me. I threw up and I was SO nauseous the next day,” said Jenner. “But as of now, I only have lip fillers…But I’m also someone who says ‘never say never’. If, down the line, I get to a point where I’m really uncomfortable with something on my body, I’m not against changing it.”

Nicole Kidman

n

“No surgery for me,” Kidman shared. “I did try Botox, unfortunately, but I got out of it and now I can finally move my face again.”

Sofia Vergara

5

“Why not? I mean, not yet, but maybe [I’ll do] my under-eye bags in my 50s,” explained Vergara. “We’ll see what I need, but I’m not saying no!”

Khloé Kardashian

“I think plastic surgery should be viewed almost like makeup, because we’re all putting on a fucking mask basically every day anyway, when you dye your hair, you’re changing who you are, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that,” shared Kardashian. “I think people should get plastic surgery or fillers or lasers or whatever if they want it — that should be your own personal decision.”

Julia Roberts

“It’s unfortunate that we live in such a panicked, dysmorphic society where women don’t even give themselves a chance to see what they’ll look like as older persons,” Roberts said. “I want to have some idea of what I’ll look like before I start cleaning the slates. I want my kids to know when I’m pissed, when I’m happy, and when I’m confounded. Your face tells a story … and it shouldn’t be a story about your drive to the doctor’s office.”

Halle Berry

“There is pressure. When you see everybody around you doing it, you have those moments when you think, “to stay alive in this business, do I need to do the same thing?””Berry confessed. “I won’t lie and tell you that those things don’t cross my mind, because somebody is always suggesting it to me: “You know, if you just did a little bit of this and that, lift this up, then this would be a little bit better.” It’s almost like crack that people are trying to push on you. That’s what I feel like.”

Katy Perry

kp

“Not a nose, not a chin, not a cheek, not a tit,” confirmed Perry. “So my messages of self-empowerment are truly coming from an au naturel product.”

Meryl Streep

ms

“To each his own. I really understand the chagrin that accompanies aging, especially for a woman, but I think people look funny when they freeze their faces,” Streep admitted.

Ariel Winter

aw

“I got it for myself. I can’t even really put it into words about how amazing it feels to really feel right,” Winter confirmed.

Naomi Campbell

“[It’s fine] for those who do it for themselves and not to please someone else,” said Campbell.

Kristen Stewart

ks

“I am so freaked out by the idea of doing anything,” Stewart confessed. “And maybe that’s completely arrogant but I don’t want to change anything about myself. I think the women who do are losing their minds. It’s vandalism.”
