Porn star Gia Paige has hit back at Netflix for violating her privacy in the documentary series Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On.
In a caps-lock only clap-back on Twitter, Paige accused the series creators of not removing specific footage from an episode, as per her request. She tweeted:
This week, Paige also told The Daily Dot that her legal name appeared in the show against her wishes.
This can be seen as a serious disregard for the personal privacy and boundaries of adult performers. It also led to a scary case of personal harassment.
“There are many dangers of having your identity exposed as a sex worker,” she said. “Someone [figured] out my last name and [did] extensive research on me and all of my family. They’ve been busy sending all of them envelopes filled with photos of me from the industry.”
Paige added: “Some stranger knows where all of my family is. I can’t put that kind of fear and anxiety into words.”
Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On is a follow up to Rashida Jones’ 2015 feature-length documentary.
While some have criticised the films for using performers’ images without their consent, others have applauded the eye-opening look at the industry.
