Last year, news broke that Pretty Little Liars, AKA one of the most stressful shows on the planet, is getting its own spin-off show.

Deadline reported that the new show, titled Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists has been given a pilot order and will star both Sasha Pieterse (AKA Alison DiLaurentis) and Janel Parrish (you know her better as Mona). It’s based on another book series by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard, The Perfectionists, with I. Marlene King back on board as screenwriter and executive producer.

Now, show creator Marlene King has spoken to TVLine about her new project, revealing that more of the original Liars will also appear in the spin-off “eventually”. Just don’t expect to see them in the pilot ep (which is totally fine, Marlene. We’ll wait).

King has also given away key elements of the new show’s plot, telling TVLine: “There is a big mystery, and there is a murder, and there are some characters who are a fractured group at the beginning of our story, and through a murder they become friends. So it’s similar in that regard, but it’s a whole new mystery, a whole new murder.”

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists sees Pieterse and Parrish plucked out of Rosewood and placed in a new fictional town, Beacon Heights.

“We’re meeting four new characters who are Perfectionists — and one of them won’t make it to the end of the pilot,” King reveals.

The suspense might actually kill us.
