Prince Harry Spent $14,000 On His Nephew Prince Louis’s Christening Gift

But you'll never guess what it is

The royal baby, Prince Louis, had his royal christening today – and if reports are to be believed, he received a very fancy present from Uncle Harry in the process.

According to The Sun’s royal sources, Prince Harry splashed $AUD14,000 (£8000) on a precious first edition of A.A. Milne’s children’s classic, Winnie the Pooh.

Published in 1926, the book is one of only 30,000 printed and was bought from rare bookseller Peter Harrington in Kensington, London.

The Sun’s sources say Prince Harry is planning to create a collection of first editions for his young niece and nephews in memory of their grandmother, Princess Diana.

“One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother,” the source says. “She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte and George to enjoy as they get older.”
