We've been waiting for the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Royal Baby since they first announced the news in October last year. But as April came and went and we're now into the early days of May, the world seems to be asking the same question - what's going on with Baby Sussex?
On further investigation into the newest member of the Royal Family, one thing remains certain - nobody, and we mean nobody, can seem to get the same story. From claims Meghan and Harry have already welcomed their first child, to royal reporters asserting Meghan is just waiting for "Mother Nature" to take its course.
We've decided to answer the big question, and find out what on earth is really happening with Baby Sussex.
Has Baby Sussex arrived?
Buckingham Palace announced on May 2 that the Duke of Sussex will visit the Netherlands on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9 – just one week from now. That likely means that the royal couple will welcome Baby Sussex within the next few days. A Palace source said on Wednesday, "No royal baby yet", per Vanity Fair. "It’s a waiting game, it’s up to Mother Nature". People assert that Meghan and Harry will inform the world when the Duchess goes into labour, but will not reveal any more information until they've had the chance the enjoy the new arrival privately.
Chris Ship, ITV's Royal Editor, responded to claims there was a "conspiracy" the couple was keeping the news private. "For anyone asking (and lots have) #BabySussex has not been born yet. There is no #newsblackout. The birth is NOT being kept secret. There is no conspiracy. Hope that's clear," he wrote.
Rebecca English, the Daily Mail's Royal Correspondent said, "#BabySussex isn’t secretly here, I’m assured."
Has Baby Sussex not arrived?
Royal fans, ever eagle-eyed, are convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already welcomed the royal bub due to the influx of royal visitors they've had in the past few days. The Queen, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, all paid a visit to the couple's Frogmore Cottage which has convinced many Harry and Meghan are simply living in their new family bubble without the added stress of the world knowing.
Earlier this year, Meghan told fans that her due date was "late April", combined with the fact she has not been seen publicly since March and her mother Doria Ragland has been in London for weeks, has led fans to believe the youngest royal is in fact here.
While we won't know anything until a formal announcement, royal fans remain glued to the @sussexroyal Instagram account, where it’s widely expected the couple will post news of the birth.
While we wait, we've rounded up some of the best reactions to those who are, not so patiently, waiting for news of Baby Sussex.
