Today marks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s final day as senior working royals, and while it may be a sad and overwhelming day for their beloved fans, the couple have taken to their Instagram account overnight to share one final message.

The heartfelt post is the final time the pair will be able to post under the @SussexRoyal handle, as well as the end of SussexRoyal.com, a website they launched at the start of the year to share the details of their transition out of royal life.
“As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile. Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference — as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line — together we can lift each other up to realize the fullness of that promise,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their final social media message.
“While you may not see us here, the work continues,” they went on. “Thank you to this community — for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!”
A spokesperson for the couple shared that although Harry and Meghan “would prefer that in the immediate weeks and months, the focus remains on the global response to COVID-19,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are aware that there were several outstanding questions relating to the next phase of their life.
Following their final royal obligations earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have relocated to Los Angeles from their previous residence on Vancouver Island, Canada. The couple are adhering to strict government guidelines and are currently self-isolating with their son, Archie Harrison.
As for their next step, the spokesperson continued to share that the duke and duchess “will spend the next few months focusing on their family and continuing to do what they can, safely and privately, to support and work with their pre-existing charitable commitments while developing their future non-profit organisation.”
