Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Relationship Under Scrutiny In New Report

Plus, her estranged brother is "setting the record straight"

As the royal wedding draws ever closer, Channel 7 has prepared an extensive investigation into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship – specifically, Meghan Markle’s past.

They’ve enlisted royal biographer Andrew Morton to provide an inside glimpse into the royal couple’s romance, but that’s not all: they’ve also had words with Markle’s estranged half-brother, Tom Markle, who “sets the record straight”, according to Seven.

Mr Markle, 51, has a history of drug and alcohol abuse and has already spoken out about how he received “a slap in the face” when he asked Meghan for help with the media’s new interest in him, news.com.au reports.

Apparently, he wrote his half-sister a letter when her engagement was announced, but never received a reply, prompting him to ask his lawyer to get in touch with Meghan’s legal team.

‘My lawyer had a phone meeting with her lawyer, and he emailed me some of her direct words,” Markle recounted to In Touch. “She said, ‘That’s distant family and I don’t know those people.’ That’s pretty harsh.”

Meghan’s mother and Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, divorced when she was six years old. Her half-sister, Samantha Grant, has also given multiple interviews since the royal engagement was announced, expressing her outrage that she wasn’t invited to the wedding and saying Meghan owes their bankrupt dad.

All this should make for juicy viewing.

Harry and Meghan: A Sunday Night Royal Event airs on Sunday at 8.30pm on Seven and 7PLUS.
