Meghan and Harry attended the WellChild Awards on Tuesday evening, where the Duke of Sussex broke down in tears recalling this time last year when no one knew Meghan was pregnant with the couple’s son, Archie Harrison.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took time to chat with the winners of the night, including 10-year-old Emmie Narayn-Nicholas, who won an award for her Emmie’s Kitchen initiative, and her mother, Eve.

Eve explained that when she met Meghan, she told the duchess how amazing she is looking just five months after giving birth to Archie. Harry reportedly looked at his wife and said, “See, I told you!” in a way that made it sound like the royal couple had spoken privately about the same thing.
“They were very lovely,” said Eve, according to Hello! magazine. “When she sat down I said, ‘Oh, you look amazing and you’ve just had a baby.’ [Harry] looked at her and went, ‘See, I told you!’ in a way that we would.”
“It did feel like they were very down to earth,” she added.
