Wow

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s newborn son isn’t yet a day old but it seems he is already breaking some royal records.

But not only that, the baby, who weighed in at 8lbs, 7 oz (3.8kg) was the heaviest royal male baby in 100 years.

The baby’s birth was announced by Kensington Palace in the traditional way, with a royal notice placed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace where it will remain for 24hours.

However being 2018 and all it was also announced on Twitter and Instagram.

Just hours after giving birth, Kate held the newborn as she and Prince William introduced the newborn, now fifth in line to the British throne, to the world.

No news yet on what the little prince’s name will be, but speculation is rife with bookies naming Arthur, Albert, James, Philip, Thomas, Edward and Fred as standouts. It could be up to two days before an announcement is made on the name however, with royal protocol stating that the Queen must be informed and approve of the choice.
