Kate Middleton & Prince William Are “Seriously Considering” A Move To Windsor

Moving on from Kensington Palace.

Duchess Catherine and Prince William may well be planning to wave goodbye to Kensington Palace, if new reports are anything to go by.

According to British newspaper The Telegraph, the Duke and Duchess are “seriously considering” a move to Windsor, and they’re already searching for properties near Windsor Castle.

The royal couple, who share three children, have lived in Kensington Palace since their marriage in 2011. The London residence was inherited by the pair from Princess Margaret, and was previously resided in by Princess Diana and Prince Charles before they separated.

Per a subsequent report from Vanity FairKate and William’s decision to move further out of London was not only approved, but also encouraged by The Queen—she herself resides at Windsor castle.

“It has been discussed with The Queen,” a source told the publication. “There are options at Windsor Caste, which is vast, and being close to the Queen, who is 95, makes sense to the family.”

At present, William and Kate split their time between Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall, a country residence near Sandringham.

There’s an undoubtable convenience to the family living so centrally in London—their two eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte (aged eight and six, respectively) attend school at Thomas’ Battersea, located just south of the River Thames.

That said, the family have been spending more and more time in their country estate, particularly because of the COVID-19 pandemic which saw the parents home school their children for a period.

A move to Windsor is also a plus for Kate, whose parents and sister, Pippa Middleton live close by in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

Pippa recently gave birth to her second child, so we’ve no doubt Prince George, Princess Charlotte and youngest child Prince Louis (aged three) would also enjoy being closer to their cousins.
