As human beings, we're all guilty of regretting certain presents for our loved ones. And it looks as if even the Royal family have the same problem when it comes to gift-giving.
The culprit? Prince William. The gift? Binoculars.
Appearing on BBC podcast, The Peter Crouch Podcast, the Duke of Cambridge confessed to his terrible choice of gift to Crouch, saying, "That was early on in the courtship, that was. I wrapped them. They were really nice," he reflected. "I was trying to convince myself about it. I was like, 'But these are really amazing, look how far you can see!'"
Unsurprisingly, Kate was not won over, with William admitting: "She was looking at me going, 'They’re binoculars, what’s going on?' It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars."
Aside from courtship confessions, Prince William actually appeared on the podcast to discuss his mental health initiative, Heaps Up, before the Heads Up FA Cup Final soccer game on August 1. William highlighted the importance of mental health awareness and the vitality of seeking help when necessary.
"We all have mental health, and we all have to stay mentally fit," he said. "It’s a strength to talk about your mental health, it’s not a weakness. You know, if you’re not feeling well, something’s bothering you, talk about it—it’s not a problem."
