It’s a hard life when your million-dollar wedding is swiftly trumped by a guest’s baby news before you’ve barely cut the cake. So spare a thought for Princess Eugenie, whose picture-perfect big day was pretty much forgotten when the world got wind that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child.

Princess Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, made her feelings on the subject quite clear when she took to Twitter a mere 40 minutes after Kensington Palace announced the royal baby news. Before you ask, no – she wasn’t publicly congratulating the couple on their pregnancy, but posting a handy public reminder that her daughter had just got married, and could we all please pay proper attention, thank you very much.

Princess Eugenie, on the other hand, appears to harbour no hard feelings against the Duchess of Sussex and her husband. In fact, quite the opposite: not only does she follow a Meghan Markle fan account on Instagram, Elle US reports, she even liked their latest photo:
