We’ve just got one question though: how exactly does she stay in such great shape?! Which is why we scoured the interwebs to find out all of her secrets.
“Life is really fast-paced and you don’t have to kill yourself in the gym,” the actress said in an interview with Women’s Health US. “You don’t have to starve yourself. I love having my pizzas and burgers and buffalo wings, on the side, for sure. But I also love staying fit as well.”
Partly, this is to avoid any occupational hazards: “I have to stay super active and agile… I do all my fights myself,” she explained. “I trust my body and my instincts.” But she’s also big on exercising to feel good, not necessarily just to lose weight.
Back in 2018, Priyanka told the Times of India that she works out regularly for “about an hour,” although “the idea is to keep fit and healthy, and not shrink myself by two or three sizes.”
Most of the time, these sweat sessions involve swimming, spin or yoga. Occasionally, though, she’ll do cardio sessions instead. And when she does, she goes hard.
In his book Fitness Secrets of the Stars, Samir Juara (aka, her trainer on the set of Mary Kom,) revealed that the 36-year-old will usually run “on the treadmill for about 15 minutes” then move on to strength/conditioning. Her go-to exercises include “pushups and reverse lunges,” and a series of 20-25 reverse crunches, bench jumps and bicep curls with light weights. To finish, she’ll do 60-second plank holds.
Sure, it sounds pretty gnarly, but she credits all this exercise to her good health.
“People always say you should listen to your body,” she told WH. “But I don’t listen to my body. My body listens to me. I can’t afford to be sick or low on energy. It’s mind over matter.”
