The Queen Canceled A Public Appearance This Morning Because She’s Sick

Buckingham Palace has released a statement

Queen Elizabeth cancelled a planned appearance today because she’s feeling under the weather, Buckingham Palace announced.

She was due to attend a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St. Michael and St. George, but Buckingham Palace announced that she had “decided not to attend” the service” due to “feeling under the weather today.”

“Her Majesty will be represented by [her cousin] The Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order,” the statement continued.

Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like there’s too much need to worry: according to People, a source close to the royals said HRH hasn’t called in a doctor and is still planning to travel to Windsor Castle later today.

The Queen has cut back on royal engagements in recent years, delegating more to Prince William and Kate Middleton and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

But it’s the times when she heads along with her grandchildren that have been making headlines, specifically her relationship with Harry’s new bride, Meghan Markle

Finger’s crossed for a few more BFF outings including the Duchess of Sussex in coming months.
