The Queen Was Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s First Guest At Frogmore Cottage

For a special reason

Before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed Kate Middleton and Prince William at their new Frogmore Cottage home, they had another special visitor over Easter. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex hosted the Queen, The Sun reports.

Queen Elizabeth II was the very first person to visit the couple in the Windsor home she gave them as a gift. “Her Majesty wanted to formally welcome the Sussexes to their new home so she was their first visitor,” a royal source told reporter Emily Andrews. “After all, they’ve practically moved into her back garden. She visited with other family members and Harry and Meghan were delighted to show them round. The Queen was at Windsor Castle at Easter and wanted to see Meghan before she has the baby.”

Meghan and the Queen have been reported to have a blossoming and close relationship. Us Weekly reported in March that Her Majesty is fond of the Duchess. “Meghan and the Queen come from two very different backgrounds and generations,” a source said. “But there’s a warmth between the two that is genuine and loving. Whenever they’re together, they always have a giggle.”

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, also arrived to Windsor from her home in Los Angeles before the Easter holiday, making sure she was nearby as the baby’s due date grows closer.

The couple is expecting their first child any day now.
