Rebecca Judd’s Beauty Rules

The Australian model and TV host reveals her haircare secrets

We spoke to the model, TV host and mother of four about how she manages never to have a hair out of place.

WHEN I’M FILMING it’s the full hair and make-up, but I have got it down to about half an hour. I do my own make-up because, as I kept having more children, I thought, “I haven’t got time to drive into the studio, get my make-up and hair done and then go out to location.” So I do it myself – I’m pretty confident.

I WASH AND TONG MY HAIR the night before. The next morning, I wake up, apply dry shampoo – which gives me volume and hold – and then I just need to re-tong the front because the base is basically done. I have used Klorane dry shampoo for years (Judd is an ambassador for Klorane), and I find I get four days between washes when I use it.

ON MY DAYS OFF I keep it simple. If I’m in a rush, it’s pretty much concealer and my eyebrows (I always do my eyebrows because I just look weird without them), then mascara. If I’ve got more time, I’ll put a little bit of bronzer on, too. It all takes me just five minutes. I like those days.

IF I FEEL I NEED MORE COVERAGE, I’ll apply a hydrating moisturiser then concealer under my eyes before blending it out over my face with my fingers.

FOR MY SKINCARE I put serums on in the morning, such as vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, and I always use SPF 50+ on my lips. My mum gave me my first cold sore two years ago at the age of 33, and I [was] like, “Mum!”

I THINK I FEEL MY MOST BEAUTIFUL WHEN I’m well rested and have clear skin. Clear skin is not easy to achieve. I get hormonal breakouts now and then, so on the odd occasion when I look in the mirror and don’t feel the need to put make-up on, it’s a good day.

IF I COULD ONLY HAVE FIVE BEAUTY PRODUCTS they would definitely be concealer, an eyebrow pencil (I like an eyebrow pencil for blondes because I find it gives a fluffy, more natural look), Klorane dry shampoo, SPF 50+ lip balm, and mascara.

I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A SIGNATURE SCENT FOR YEARS and I finally found one. It’s called Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540. Whenever I wear it, someone comments on it. MY BIG SKIN TIP is to wear sunscreen. If you think there’s some magic cream that’s going to make you look younger, there’s not. That’s my number one thing – don’t tan your face. Stay out of the sun; it will save you so much money down the track on skin treatments.
