Rebecca Judd Shares A Glimpse Inside Her Newly Renovated Spanish-Inspired Family Mansion

Spectacular

Radio personality and Jaggad designer Rebecca Judd has shared a rare look inside her new Spanish colonial family homeJudd, who is married to AFL star Chris Judd, took to social media to give her 700k Instagram followers an update on their ongoing renovations to the five-bedroom home.

Last June, the couple sold their home in Melbourne’s south-east suburb of Brighton for an estimated $4.7-$5.17 million.

“It all came down to space. Our last house was great but what made us think ‘we have got to move’ was the need for something bigger,” Judd told 9Honey.

However, the lifestyle guru isn’t immune to the occasional renovation blunder telling KIIS FM about a recent “big mistake” that cost Judd $50 000.

“We hit this major snag because when you go to home inspections, you never think to drive your cars into the garage to see if they fit or not,” Judd told the radio hosts. “They don’t fit, so there’s this massive column in the middle and each car has its own roller door with this big structural beam in the middle.

“Our cars, neither of them fit in. We tried one night and we couldn’t even get the nose in.

“We’ve had to knock out the column because this isn’t going to be my dream home and we’re going to leave the cars out on the street, so we had to bang out the column, put some more structural steel across the top and open it up. $50,000 later …

“That was a big mistake, so if you’re listening, make sure you measure the garage.”

“The kitchen was perfect for a family of four, but once we went to six (with twin sons Darcy and Tom) – and we had guests staying over sometimes – there wasn’t enough room for us.”

Unveiling her ‘MagnaPool’ pool and spa the 36-year-old shared a look at the concrete being poured. Next Bec posted a photo of the steel windows being fitted.  “A big day on-site today. Our steel windows started to arrive plus our MagnaPool and spa got sprayed,” the mum-of-four explained.

She added: “We decided to build our new concrete MagnaPool within the shell of the old fibreglass one (check out @thestyleschool page for an explanation on why we chose to do this).

Thank you to Dave Franklin @franklin_fpa and his team for working so hard on our project. Pool equipment by @astralpoolaustralia and tiles to come by @klaytiles.”

With many users responding questions about the ‘MagnaPool’ – it’s interesting to note that a ‘MagnaPool‘ is a magnesium mineral pool system specially designed to help alleviate muscle aches and pains.

The couple is sharing every step of their renovations via Bec’s home blog: The Style School. Their outdoor entertaining area features a cozy alfresco dining space while to carry out the Mederattian aesthetic of the luxury home.

“The arches – that’s why we bought the house – I died at the arches. That was the main selling point for us in terms of design features,” Bec told 9Honey last month. Adding that her “forever” home was in need of “a lot of TLC.”

When it comes to selecting a colour palette, Judd hinted that she’s opting for muted grey and soft plush pink tones. “Flat lay city.”
