Enter: Reese Witherspoon (the star of the greatest courtroom drama ever made, Legally Blonde).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon has teamed up with Apple to executive-produce a drama series titled Are You Sleeping, which delves into our obsession with crime podcasts.
The series is based on Kathleen Barber’s true-crime novel of the same name, and will follow a prominent murder case, which then becomes the subject of a podcast. As Variety reports, the series “challenges its viewers to consider the consequences when the pursuit of justice is placed on a public stage”.
If you’re not convinced yet, here are a few other key players involved who will definitely ensure it’s a thrilling series: Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer is set to star in the series, while Serial’s Sarah Koenig will serve as a consultant.
