The One Ingredient You Need for Younger-Looking Skin

It's your new night-time anti-aging essential

Smooth, firm and youthful-looking skin isn’t necessarily something we all can take for granted. In fact, as we age our skin loses elasticity as its ability to renew its collagen stores slows, resulting in lacklustre skin with fine lines and wrinkles.

For skincare experts Elizabeth Arden, combating this process is akin to rocket science with a history of breakthrough scientific innovations that lead the field in anti-ageing. The launch of their Ceramide Capsules in 1990 was a game-changer, featuring bio-engineered skin-identical ceramides in a single-dose capsule format that delivered big anti-ageing results.

Now Elizabeth Arden takes this technology to the next level by thinking outside the box again, utilising the power of retinoids in their new Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum.

What is Retinol?

Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A that encourages cell renewal, which in turn creates a layer of new collagen in the skin. The production of new collagen is where powerful anti-ageing and wrinkle reversal begins.

How does it work?

Dr Dendy Englemen, celebrity dermatologist, cosmetic and skin cancer surgeon explains. “Since Retinol helps with overall textural and tone improvement, it can be beneficial for numerous different signs of aging,” she says. “It helps with cell turnover, making skin look more youthful. It also helps to support skin’s natural collagen and elastin, thus improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

The new power couple – Ceramides and Retinol

The new Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules combine the powerful line-erasing benefits of Retinol with the moisture-boosting and skin barrier repair benefits of Ceramides. Together, they visibly diminish the look of lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, tone, and clarity to reveal dramatically younger-looking skin you can feel confident about.

By leveraging these complementary technologies, Elizabeth Arden is able to provide visible results while helping to protect against the dryness that can be indicative of Retinol products.

The power of Retinol, encapsulated

Retinol is extremely sensitive to light and air, which can affect its stability. The mono-dose capsule format of the Retinol Ceramide Capsules allows for targeted and precise dosage, along with a meticulous manufacturing process to help protect Retinol from light and air exposure, ensuring the potency of every application. And the proof is in the capsule – in stability testing* , the Retinol in these capsules was 76% more potent than its non-encapsulated equivalent.

Dosage do’s and don’ts

“Using more of a Retinol product won’t make it more efficacious, just more irritating,” says Dr Engleman. “Retinol Ceramide Capsules help with this because they’re pre-dosed so you don’t need to think about how much you’re using. Formulating with Ceramides also helps protect against irritation—by adding Ceramides to the formula, we are helping to moisturize with the application of the serum itself.”

Powerful Partners

For fans or new recruits to the Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules, the great news is they’re designed to use in tandem with the new Retinol Ceramide Capsules, for double duty anti-ageing. Think of the Advanced Ceramide for day and the Retinol Ceramide for night.

Advanced Ceramide Capsules use Ceramides, Fatty Acids, and Cholesterol to maintain skin’s barrier layer, while the new Retinol Ceramide Capsules pair Retinol with moisture-boosting Ceramides for powerful results that help protect against the dryness and irritation that can come with harsh Retinol treatments.

As Dr Englemen describes, “Both capsules play different yet complementary roles. Think of it this way you brush your teeth every day – you wouldn’t skip that step for a whitening treatment. Advanced Ceramide Capsules provide daily support to your skin, and Retinol Ceramide Capsules help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, texture and tone.”

To Use

The capsule format makes the serum a dream to use. Simply twist the tab on the top to open. Smooth the serum over your cleansed face and neck nightly, before your moisturiser, for smoother, retexturised skin.
