After delighting us with the latest round of royal family portraits taken after Prince Louis’ christening last week, The Duke and Duchess decided there was one more photo they just had to share.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis,” read the caption on their Kensington Royal Instagram account.
“The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do. 📷 @mattporteous”.
The photo is a beautifully candid shot of Kate Middleton and her two-month-old son laughing.
While the official royal portraits were taken by official photographer, Matt Holyoak and were always planned to be released, this photo was taken by Matt Porteous who, according to The Mirror, was commissioned to take photos of the family for their private collection.
It seems the family couldn’t resist sharing this extra shot – and we can see why.
It’s rare – and refreshing – to see the royals so relaxed and candid.
Porteous has worked with the royal family before, he also photographed Prince George for his third birthday in 2016.
Prince Louis’s christening was held last week at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace in London.
Kate and Wills kept it intimate, with only the little Prince’s godparents, their spouses, and close family members in attendance.
The service was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, who also christened both Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
