One Of Meghan Markle’s Closest Friends Just Spilled Details On The Reception

"We partied and celebrated and ate sliders at 2am"

Since the royal wedding, a few precious details about the exclusive evening reception (that’s royal speak for after party) have trickled down to the masses. We know that slippers were provided for women sick of their stilettos, and that James Cordon presided over a dance-off between Prince Harry, Prince William and Prince Charles (we’re not kidding).

Now, one of Meghan Markle’s closest friends, Vampire Diaries actress Janina Gavankar, has given away a few tidbits of her own. Speaking to Town & Country, Gavankar confirmed that food trucks arrived to serve up sliders to the 200 guests at Frogmore House (along with fairy floss and pizza deliveries, according to other reports).

“We all danced until the wee hours,” Gavankar says. “We partied and celebrated and ate sliders at two in the morning.”

“It was such a beautiful day and a carefree night, and it was a very powerful day in history,” she added. “I think everybody felt it across the world.”

Gavankar also revealed that the table names referenced the differences between English and American pronunciation. “Potato, poTAHto, tomato, tomMAHto, oregano, oreGAHno,” she explained. “It was so sweet. There were so many nods to the beautiful mashup of two cultures.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have opted for a Tiki theme for the evening reception, complete with rum cocktails and a fireworks display.
