However, the incident between Middleton and Markle is complete fiction, according to Buckingham Palace. "This never happened," the Palace told The Mirror.
Buckingham Palace rarely steps in to fight off the rumor mill, but their defense was warranted, because just hours prior to shutting down The Sun's story, Vanity Fair reported that the Duchess of Sussex believes that the British press "is out to get her."
