Reynolds' continued by admitting that his best contributions as a writer, typically come from Lively herself, saying:
“There’s a lot of A++ writing that I’ve done that was actually Blake; Blake would jump in, grab the keyboard and [say] ‘What about this?’ And I’d be like, ‘That’s incredible'.”
“She’s helped me so much in ‘Deadpool,’ all kinds of movies that have been big successes,” he added. “She’s always got a lot of bricks in that wall.”
“I write on a lot of my movies. It’s been a survival mechanism for me for a long time. Sometimes I’m credited, sometimes I’m not.”
The father of three also revealed that he would inform directors and producers of Lively’s vital contribution to their scripts, but the credit always ends up going to him.
“Maybe it’s cause there’s inherent sexism in the business,” Reynolds said. “I will say that a lot of times, ‘She wrote that, Blake wrote that not me. That was her.’ And it’s like, they still, later on, repeat the story as ‘I wrote it.'”
The notoriously private father of three went on to talk about his life as a "girl dad" to his and Lively's daughters: James, Inez and Betty.
Aside from being the children of Hollywood's most talked-about couples, the trio also had the honour of being named in one of Taylor Swift's songs, titled "Betty". Now, over a year after the song's initial release, Reynolds has spoken about his thoughts on his daughters' song mention.
"The names are the name of our kids, but, you know, we trust [Taylor] implicitly," he said. "She's very sensitive to any of that stuff. And obviously the song had nothing to do with our kids other than our kids' names,"
Adding that he and Lively think the song is "pretty damn amazing", the storyline within the tune details a complicated love triangle between three highschoolers, who are named after the couple's children.
"What an honour. We thought it was pretty, pretty damn amazing. We still do," he said. "You know, I still walk down the street and shake my head thinking, I can't believe that happened."
