With the second season of The Bachelorette premiering tomorrow, Australia's first bachelorette, Sam Frost, has been reflecting on her own journey.
In a Mamamia podcast, the 27-year-old breakfast radio host opened up about how she was really dumped by then Bachelor Blake Garvey.
Blake proposed to Sam during the finale of the second season of The Bachelor, then broke up with her the following day, with Blake admitting he was in love with third place contestant, Louise Pillidge.
“It was with the Executive Producer of the show and the publicist… I think he had thought he’d made it very clear, but he hadn’t,” she said.
“Our publicist literally said – ‘What are you trying to say? Are you breaking up with Sam? What is going on?’ she continued.
"And then they looked at me and said ‘Sam – what is going on?’ And I go – ‘I dunno, don’t look at me. I’m not the one talking.'”
Of course, there was light at the end of the tunnel. Sam agreed to be Australia's first Bachelorette, and fell in love with now boyfriend Sasha Mielczarek.
“I felt it straight away with Sash, and I turned into a nervous wreck.”
