Cult skincare brand Sand & Sky burst onto the beauty scene last year by releasing a millennial pink face mask that not only looks incredibly good on your Instagram feed but as a bonus, actually works.
In fact, there was so much hype internationally about the Brilliant Skin clay mask that I had no idea it was created Down Under, made using Australian clay, no less.
After months of wait lists – once reaching over 2,000 people – for their first product, the Melbourne-based brand has just dropped its new addition: an exfoliating scrub that doubles as a flash mask.
Created at their customer’s request, the Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment promises to absorb oil and refine pores, resurface and mattify skin and, when left on for 5-minutes in the shower, boost skin’s glow.
Sounds too good to be true, right? Wrong.
After two weeks of trialling the new product, I can safely say it lives up to its many promises.
After cleansing, I gently apply the scrub in circular motions for a few minutes, before leaving on for the rest of my shower. Upon washing it off, skin is instantly soft and smooth to the touch.
But it’s not until looking in the mirror that you notice the real difference: my pores are visibly reduced and it actually seems to have worked magic on the lines on my forehead.
My main skincare concerns are occasional hormonal breakouts and redness, both of which seem to have calmed in the few weeks of incorporating the exfoliating treatment.
The other massive plus about Sand & Sky is it’s cruelty-free and the ingredients, which are sourced right here in Australia, are free from nasties (no sulfates, parabens or synthetic fragrance).
It’s official: I now only use millennial pink products, thank you very much.
