No word quite sums up Sara Crampton’s style like ‘minimalist’.

As the face behind fashion blog Harper and Harley, and the founder and curator of The Undone Store, Sara has made a name for herself among the world’s fashion elite with her pared back, sophisticated-yet-simple style.

So it’s only natural that her ‘less is more’ ethos translates into her beauty routine, too.

“We don’t need a million products in our beauty cabinet, we just need products that work for our skin,” she tells marie claire Australia.

“I don’t want to waste my money on products packed with fragrances, or fancy packaging—it really is about products that work.”

The Perfect Routine

While Sara has now found a regime that works for her, she admits it’s taken her a while to figure out exactly what works best for her skin.

“I’ve experimented a lot with my skincare through my twenties, and I feel like that was the worst possible thing for it,” she says. “In the past I’ve gone over the top with actives and compromised my skin barrier, and that’s something I don’t want to do again.”

Now, she focuses on giving her skin the most nourishing ingredients possible – like SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Vitamin C serum.

“In the morning I do a really light cleanse, just to wash away what I’ve had on the night before—a simple micellar water on a cotton pad works really well for me,” she says.

“And then I move on to a Vitamin C serum—I’m currently using the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum. It helps protects against any UV aggravators and the environmental effects of the day. I lock all that in with a moisturiser, and then always finishing off with a sunscreen.”

Ingredients That Work

Rather than following trend-based skincare routines, Sara says her focus is on using products that actually work, with the proof to back it up.

“I look for brands that are science and research backed,” she says.

“[Products] that are recommended by dermatologists are also really important to me—brands like SkinCeuticals that have all that research and all those evidence-based results.”

SkinCeuticals is backed by science and research, with Vitamin C serums formulated to target a variety of skin concerns.

SkinCeuticals Vitamin C serums are backed by over 30 years of research on the effects of antioxidants on the skin, with each formula targeting a specific skin concern, like the appearance of fine lines, pigmentation or blemishes.

They were the first to stabilise the power antioxidant Vitamin C—proven to provide skin with protection from the signs of ageing and free radical damage – for use in skincare, which is why their products are beloved by skin specialists, beauty experts and celebrities across the world.

Listen To Your Skin

Of course, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to skincare, with Sara stressing the importance of listening to your skin and what it needs, which can change over time.

“Strangely, my skin was a bit more reactive before having my son. I was really focusing on tackling congestion, and when I was pregnant, I had a bit of pigmentation to overcome,” she says.

“Now, I’m looking at tacking the early signs of ageing and hydration ahead of winter.”
