As the youngest daughter of former President Barack Obama, Sasha Obama has spent much of her life in the spotlight. But since her father’s departure from the Oval Office in 2017, both Sasha and her sister Malia have kept a low profile.
Now, Sasha is about to graduate high school and just attended her senior prom. And, thanks to the wonder of Twitter, we’ve got photos.
Opting for a simple black slip dress, the youngest Obama was escorted by Chris Milton, whose cousin posted photos of the pair to Twitter. They were since deleted, but, like anything on the internet, were quickly saved.
Also in attendance was Michelle Obama, who mingled with friends and parents before sending her daughter off to prom — and, as one Twitter user pointed out, was accompanied by a Secret Service agent.
Sasha was just seven years old when her father was sworn in as President, and has since kept a relatively normal life (complete with Secret Service agents, of course) since his retirement from politics three years ago. Malia recently made headlines when she was spotted out with a boyfriend, fellow Harvard student Rory Farquharson. So, while the Obama sisters might no longer be White House residents, they’re certainly on track to being scrutinized for a long while yet — and judging by Sasha’s enviable prom dress choice, we hope it isn’t the last we see of her fashion choices.
