New Documents Reveal Seal And Heidi Klum’s Conflict Over Custody Of Their Children

They were once Hollywood's golden couple

Despite being together for almost a decade, legal documents are supposedly indicating tensions over custody between Seal and Heidi Klum, with Seal even believing that his ex-wife is trying to take their kids away.

After finalising their divorce in 2014, it seemed that Heidi Klum and Seal were attempting to co-parent their four children; Leni, 16, Henry, 14, Johan, 13, and Lou, 10, together.

But as more details surface regarding their current legal battle, it’s been revealed that Seal is against Klum bringing their kids on a work trip to her native Germany.

The singer asked the court to block their family’s travel plans due to his belief that Klum is vying to relocate them to Europe permanently.

‘I believe Heidi has a hidden agenda to move the children to Germany,’ Seal wrote in court papers obtained by The Blast

Klum, who quietly wed her partner Tom Kaulitz in 2019, is set to begin filming Germany’s Next Top Model later this year. But while Seal has never protested (at least publicly) over Heidi taking their children along on her jobs, the new documents reveal his concern. According to the documents, he fears that the pandemic will only cause travel restrictions to become tighter, preventing his kids from returning to the U.S.

“Notwithstanding Heidi’s request, if granted, it could in effect move the children away from me and their home here in Los Angeles to Germany for what could be an indefinite period of time given the uncertainty of the impact of COVID-19 on this country’s and Germany’s travel restrictions which could change at any time and prevent the children from leaving Germany or from entering the United States,” he added.

In response, Klum argued that her ex-husband doesn’t make an effort to see the kids consistently and therefore should go with her.

“[Seal’s] time with our children is sporadic at best… I tried to work this out with Henry directly to no avail,” she wrote, adding that the kids “do not want to stay in LA with their dad without me. It could not possibly be in their best interests.”

To which Seal claimed that it was difficult to work around their mother’s schedule.

“Unfortunately, when I ask Heidi for more time to see the children, Heidi often makes it unnecessarily difficult by alleging that she and the children are ‘busy’ on particular days, that the children are ill, or that they simply cannot see me,” he claims. “As such, I am often forced to see the children on Heidi’s schedule and when it is convenient for her, which has significantly decreased my custodial time. Nevertheless, I make it a point to spend as much time with the children as possible and to make myself accessible to the children.”

Neither party has made a public statement about their legal battle.
